shot, can put some Discovery Miles to good use :)

No problem :)

Anyone have one of those magnetic charger cables? Don't really want to play around so much with my flap thing which may compromise its waterproof-ness. Don't really want to order one from overseas and wait 3 weeks. (Or pay out my a** for shipping!)

Posted earlier with a docking station I ordered... R100 from eforchina. I'm sure it can be butchered for the cable.

Nope, sonys brilliant marketing means it's either R550 for a dock from their store, R300 shipping or a months wait to order from overseas, if it gets past the post office

I'm got the full size Z3 and ordered a magnetic charging cable and the smart cover from mobilefun. Was quick but yes there is a courier charge.

I don't want to open the flaps in case it wears it out. The USB connector is also a bit tricky to use. Love the magnetic charging cable.

Is the magnetic charging cable only for charging or also normal USB connections, data transfers etc?

Nope.

They were bought by google sometime back. What makes Timely cool is that it can sync to your google account and across devices.

Hi guys. Just found this thread and thought I'd post up my experience... It's been a love hate thing...

Got my first Z3 on 1 Dec 2014... Loved the battery life and the phone in general. But on 27 Dec the darn thing just died, while I was away on holiday. Great!

Finally got to the Allandale repair centre on 5 Jan. Next day was advised I can get a new device at the store I took the contract at. Problem was that mtn had no stock country-wide. Anyway, i put up a fuss and eventually a few days later, someone managed to find me one at the head office... Switched it on and all seems great.

Loving the phone despite the first one dying. I get two full days of pretty heavy usage which is fantastic. My previous Samsung S4 mini used to last from 8am-7pm before dying... So that gives you an indication of battery life. Apparently, battery life on the Z3 compact is even better!

LTE on MTN is fantastic! I got 32Mbps download and 9.8Mbps upload on speedtest.net at home with 39ms ping. I normally run the test twice as second time always seems to be quite a bit better, but the test used 75mb of data so I opted not to.

All in all, if the phone keeps beating, I think Sony have a winner here!!! I'm loving it!

I am experiencing a weird bug (I suspect). Twice I have found that if I am active in an app and someone calls me I can't get out of the app to answer it or see who is calling... The home and back buttons vanish and the app doesn't give way to the call...

Do you have that gesture feature enabled where you can put the phone to your ear while it's ringing and it answers? Just a work around

I wouldn't mind using that dock. But this $2 shipping, is it with a courier, or through the post office? Have you got it yet, if so how long did it take?

Haven't got it yet, only been a week. It usually takes 3 weeks.

My phone fell about a meter face down on tiles.

Don't know if the Capdase cover and R200 screen protector saved it but it's not damaged at all

My heart.
