First we were told February, now they changed it to "early in the year".

I enjoyed my Galaxy tab, till I got an Xperia, now I hate using my Galaxy, so slow, so bloated, doesn't have a lot of the neat little Sony tools, like PC connectivity over wifi, media at home, etc...

This is by far the best device i've owned

With all the problems that Sony Mobile is having, one has to wonder if we'll ever see another compact device from them. After the unveiling of the S6/S6 Edge last night one has to consider that the Z3 may be the last great android phone that no one knew about . Features that my Z3 compact has that the S6 does not:

• 20.7 MP Camera
• FM Radio
• Expandable Storage
• Better Battery life
• No Touchwiz
• Dust and Waterproof
• Doesn't resemble an iPhone

Weird that Samsung got rid of microSD as well as dust and waterproofing in exchange for a premium build. I have the premium build on this device and I still get to enjoy those features.

Seeing that Sony isn't doing too great recently I'm at a point where I'm debating on whether or not to buy another Z3 compact to keep as a spare in case this one breaks/gets stolen.

I'm definitely going for the Z3 or Z4 whichever is available at the time I upgrade in October.

I love my Z3 Compact but I think I might just go back to a bigger phone.

The only reason is for typing purposes.

I'll either get the S6/Edge or Z4 both of which should be available around June.

Z3 Compact has been good but it's time to move on for me.

Nothing competes with the Z3 compact, but there are alternates to the Z3. The closest to the Z3 compact is......the Z1 compact

There is the Galaxy Alpha but the battery is poor.

That said, the Z3 Compact camera is poor, also. I've moved on and barely use the Sony these days. I won't even update it to Lollipop. I got an HTC 620 meantime and want a large-screened flagship next (but not an HTC).

Which Alpha....Samsung loads up do much crapware on their phones...that even a high spec phone runs like a dog. My bro works for them, but will never get a Samsung phone for himself. Nexus, LG , Sony and HTC is where he's at
