Am I missing something? If I press the volume down or up button I have a option for Silent Mode.

Not the traditional silent mode. If you put it into Silent mode then you get no notifications via the LED and your Alarm won't go off in the morning.

putting volume all the way down still makes it vibrate.

All i want is the simple one. No vibration, the notification LED to tell me stuff and my alarm to still work in the morning.

Oh cool, didn't notice that. Have you tested it with notifications, calls and such?

So this update, when it reaches SA do our service providers still need to "approve" it, or will I get it instantly? Or is this what the wait is for...? I'm plucking up the courage to just flash it, but I'm too chicken :p

Like poffle said. No notifications or vibrate or LED. When the phone rings the screen goes on though. So you can see who's calling when your phone is lying on a table in front of you. But if it's in your pocket, you won't know about it.

If only it would vibrate.

Mine has gone on ebay - it wasn't a bad device for its time, but I just want 5" devices from now on.

My battery life seems to have gotten worse after flashing Lollipop. I suspect that I need to do a factory reset, since I didn't do one when I loaded it

Nope, not 2 fingers, used to be able to swipe down with a single finger (swipe down like 1cm) then swipe up again and it would bring down the settings menu.. all in one motion, difficult to explain... but its hardly a deal breaker, just one of those nice to have things.
Just hold your finger on the bar for a second before swiping down. Been doing it that way even on kit kat and it's faster than a double swipe...

Yeah im in a bit of a predicament regarding this though. I bought it through Handtec.co.uk and i'm now living in mauritius. I have absolutely no idea if they even have a service center here or if they will help at all. Will probably goto one of the cellphone shops and see if they can point my in the right direction and maybe just maybe they'll help under warranty (i doubt it, they will probably say it was done on purpose)

hi guys,

Can anyone tell me where I can get the 4K videos that ship with the phone? I deleted the ones on mine and would like them back - can't find them anywhere online...
