If my source is correct then the Z3 and Z3 Compact will be in MTN stores this week still.

Doesn't [-]Ousie[/-]Ockie post the new Vodacom lists every month around the 5th? Or was that the 7th?

Edit: It's already on there?

But it's already on the list he posted in October? Normally when he posts those they are definitely available.

I just picked up a Magnetic charging cable for $2 via E-bay.

E-bay for the win.

Hey guys sorry to side step a bit, I am interested in getting the Z3 from the Orange store but I have never used them and a bit nervous as it's a fair amount money. Anyone had any issues with the Orange store?

The business is legit, BUT the service is not and the staff needs some serious training. Be prepared to wait, not have your mails answered, getting limited info from under trained staff on the phone. You will eventually end up with the device.

I had to basically yell at them via email, phone and then had to fight with them on Facebook. I hate taking complaints to social media pages but I think that my Facebook rant worked because my order somehow materialised a day later.

As a matter of interest, how much are you paying for the Z3 Compact in SA? I paid £350 unlocked which is 6189 Rand.

6700 on Orange, who knows on Vodacom or MTN, they can't be arsed with updating their websites.

300mb data? Wow, you're really getting screwed. I pay £15 for unlimited 4G, unlimited texts and 300 minutes for 30 days. And that is pay-as-you-go, no contract. I see no point at all in contracts.

The most I've used in a month is 106GB - it's replaced my home broadband as it's so much faster.

This is South Africa, not England. :)

I also had 15 quid uncapped ADSL when I lived in the UK, but when I came back to SA, it was R1000 for 3GB. :)

I fortunately have 10GB on my phone each and every month (thank you, Telkom Mobile), but Vodacom and MTN really screw their customers over. Telkom Mobile withdrew the 10GB deal, because there was simply no competiton.

Hopefully now that Telkom Mobile is becoming bigger and bigger, it will force the other service providers to become competitive again.

I bought ribeye steak - without the bone, for £2.20 per pound. You're really getting screwed over there.

Cigarettes are expensive now in line with many other countries. I agree, food is expensive here but nothing like Scandinavia.

Thing is, there's really almost nothing you can do with 300mb of data a month. What's that? Half an hour of You Tube or streaming a couple of albums.

I don't have home wi-fi because mobile data is so fast and cheap, plus I don't own a TV or landline - and many of the fibre providers will insist you buy their complete package. On my phone, or on my laptop or tablet tethered to my phone, I stream HD movies, download 3GB games, upload 70GB of music to the cloud - all sorts of things - for very little cost. I guess I'm used to it now.

The money I save on food and rent buys me 10meg uncapped at home so I can go through 500gigs of downloads a month and have wifi for my phone.

I wouldn't be happy with 10meg at home (way too slow) when I can have 60meg at home and also when I'm outside with my phone - all unlimited 4G and using mobile data for £15 per 30 days, plus 300 minutes and unlimited sms, no contract.

Anything faster doesn't make sense to me. I'd rather have sunshine, space, braais and a nice big garden thanks. Enjoy winter!
