Hi Guys.

So my Sony Z3 Compact decided it didn't want to be waterproof anymore and died on me(long story). Took the VC(who i have my contract with), they said they wont even have a look at it, water damage, just gave me a letter for insurance saying its beyond economical repair. They said i can still try at SSS Cellular, who are a Sony Approved Repair centre.
Took it to them and after a few days they told me it is a factory fault, and they need to replace the mainboard, to be covered under warranty(12 months remaining).
This was on the 10th of Jan.
I still have no phone.
Apparently, they have no stock, and the crap thing is, they have no idea when they will get stock.
I've tried speaking to the Repair Centre, they can't help me, even the manager is at a loss.
Spoke to the Sony Global call centre, same story, they are waiting for feedback, but they can't do anything more.
Even messaged Sony ZA on Facebook, they said they will follow up, and am still waiting for feedback.

Surely after not having parts for two months or whatever, they can't just leave me hanging?
Does anyone have any suggestions? or Possibly s higher up that i can speak to?
If they still don't parts, why dont they just give me a new phone?

Help, please :crying:

Go to the repair center and ask for the damage assessment report, stating that it is factory fault.
Go back to VC and ask for warranty or replacement phone
Pull the consumer protection act on them.

If all else don't work. Try the small claims court

That, sounds like a plan, will see if i can get a damage assessment report.

Yeah. The moment one of the other avenues said your phone was a fault under warranty you should've gone to vc and not turned it in where ever.

Unfortunately this repair centre is the only place they can check if the water damage is due to factory fault. VC doesn't do any checks, they opened the flaps and noticed the water damage indicators, and refused to investigate further.

Going to try to get the assessment report and see if VC will be any more helpful.
