Soon to be new Dad. Any advice?

Haha, my sister's 2 year old threw up all over her at Quarter Deck yesterday. The second he started I made myself scarce. Not my problem, I had my turn and I'm not keen for repeats.

My sisters 2 year old also threw up on me once...right on the face as I went in for a quick peck on the cheek!

I ran around and the rest of the kids tried to escape from me screaming in ewwww lol.

Both my kids were terrible nappers...so I walked 1 000's of km's with them. Then you want a proper stroller...not a rattling POS you bought in Checkers.
Strangely enough mine weren't, used the stroller very few times. Was more a pain than it was worth, go shopping put the car seat in the trolley, get older put them in the trolley seat thingy.
Had a big massive Jeep stroller, brand new at the time was R6k, second hand a grand. Baby stuff is like audiophile stuff, cheap as chips second hand. 90% of the time most of the stuff is still brand new

Also plan on doing Europe for two weeks a year from age one

Where does the pram go then?

Genuine question I don’t know if they can even go on planes, don’t recall ever seeing them but I guess you also don’t see wheelchairs yet they are there.

Not specifically getting it for travelling/flying etc but I have seen many couples trave local and abroad then they lock the pram away at the front when you fly and then you get it when you disembark

See below

South African Airways
Infants can bring a collapsible pram or buggy for free, plus one checked bag up to 23 kg. You can use the pram until you reach the aircraft door, where a staff member will check it into the hold.

Flysafair
You can bring a pram or baby chair for free per infant. You can bring your pram through security and into the boarding area, and Flysafair will place it in the front hold of the aircraft .

@bennyblanco When's the babay expected? Or is it already here :)
Haven't been reading much nowadays!

Baby due end April or early May… so far everything has been going well. Going for next scan this week, hopefully we can find out gender this week.

Excitement seems to grow more and more as the wife starts showing more and more

Seems like we landed on these two prams, I am leaning towards the elite version seems to be better than the "luxe" version am I missing something here.

Yes they can both do the whole travel system thing too but the elite appears to be better suspension wise?

Have also seen these. My word of advise is to just hold off for a sale, you can get the elite 5 in 1 for a big sale. I saw it for like 5k off a short while ago

Really enjoying the scans! Highlight of the month!

The nesting is setting in hard with the kitchen/laundry/garage reno done the focus turns to nursery now.

Aircon ordered today and cot along with linen etc.. Reality is starting to set in!

Looking forward to the new chapter

We also got the gender confirmed as a boy!

And here mine are 6 and 10 and I’ve never put them on a plane for my own and everyone else’s sanity. 🤣

Haha... I get it but my wife had to do 2/5 year European visits to maintain her cpd points/accreditation the reason we were in france/serbia/Portugal over the last few years and there is no way a little one is stopping me from joining and he is also comign along! I get that it will be a totally different experience but also memories too!

Also an experience I want to share over the years
