Ok, this has pro'lly been answered already, but I can't find it and Rodent's FAQ doesn't cover this.

I need to set up an iBurst UTD so that around 6 notebooks can share a connection via WiFi.

Unfortunately the problem is that I have been supplied the UTD (which I can get working via normal ethernet (cat-5) connection-with the crappy iburst driver software) together with a D-Link DWL-2100P Access point (to which I am able to get all the notebooks to connect), but I don't know how to connect to iBurst thru the AP.

Is it possible?

Thanks.

arf9999: Is the slink device that you are using just an AP? Because if it is, then u will be unable to use it. To get an internet connection that will be shared, u will need a Wireless Router with PPPoE capabilities (as far as I know all of them do). I am running my iBurst thru a Gigabyte B-49G and it works like a charm. So worst case scenario you will need to get yourself a router.

I second mic_y's comment: An AP is designed to be plugged into a hub of sorts ... on second thought, you might actually get it to work:

Is the AP connected to a 'main' computer, or how did you set this up? I used to do the following with my ISDN line, and the same should hold for iBurst:
Create the iBurst connection on a 'main' computer via USB.
Activate Internet connection sharing on the computer connected to iBurst UTD.
Connect the AP to the 'main' computer via Ethernet.
Set AP's gateway to 'main' computers IP address.
Thats it ... Wireless notebooks connect to AP as normal, AP uses computer with ICS as gateway.
If you don't have a 'main' computer, you will need a Wireless Broadband router like the BR-49G, BR-404W, D-link, etc.

Good luck

I see landyman gave you the same advise as I did, well you could try it, it might work and will be quite alot cheaper but isn't quite as nice as having a router, I use a netgear WGR614 that works great for this by the way, but I hear the Linksys WRT54G are the best... should all work fine
anyway sounds like you only have notebooks that cant be "hosting" the connection so a router it is.

The original post was at like 6:00pm, then you complain cause you didn't get a reply in an hour. Whats up with that?

Hey...this is MyADSL...if you don't get a response in 20 minutes you're off the front page in "new posts" ;)

Also, I needed to get an answer quickly...Which I got after a bit of spamming:)
