As per the title

I'm in the market for a sound bar and need some advice

Budget is around 6K

Really want something that is 5.1 but might have to settle for 2.1 or 3.1 if need be

This is the only Dolby Atmos 1 that I've found in the price range, albeit no sub - Link

Other options that I've seen is from the Samsung range - N550 and R550

What else would be good?

P.S not interested in Hisense, JVC and all other weak brands:ROFL:

How is 2.1 for movies etc?

Do you own this Sound Bar?
Don't own, but a very good Mate of mine does. It's always being used when I'm around. So I can confidently recommend based on my many, many experiences with it. I'm also going to buy it once I've saved for it.

Its a 2.1, so obviously there are better things out there. But looking at it as a 2.1 sound bar only, I would rate it in the following categories as follows:
- Music: 10/10. Very clear, and sounds amazing. Can't compliment it enough. The bass is very very good.
- Movies/Sports: 8.5/10. Excellent yet again, but I noticed that sometimes you really have to turn it up a bit to hear properly, especially for movies.
- Talk/Podcasts/Radio: 9/10: Very crisp and clear.
- Connectivity/Ease of Use: 10/10. The Bluetooth capability is great, it has AUX and USB inputs and an HDMI input. The sub-woofer is wireless and that makes it so much neater in my books.

You can also look at reviews from Takealot here (it's currently on sale :giggle:):https://www.takealot.com/jbl-2-1-bar-studio-soundbar-black/PLID48757909/reviews/1.

You really can't go wrong here.

Consider the Yamaha range. Get one with even a small sub.. makes a difference to enjoying movies.
