no such thing as a president setting a good example, presidents by definition the world over are all corrupt, immoral, unethical sons of bitches. It’s a prerequisite of being a leader...

i agree, but then you have to ask why every president of every country is corrupt etc.

why aren't they after the peoples/country's best needs ?

there are future leaders who aren't corrupt, and it's those that need to unify the people.

I've never registered to vote. Where and how do I do so?
Sorry but that really makes me mad. How can you not vote? No wonder we are where we are. It is your duty to go and vote. I dont mean to take it out on you but come on man, go and do your civil duty or even your moral duty.

I'm with marine1 when it comes to voting. You mean to tell me there is not ONE political party in all the ones available that shares the same values/viewpoints as to where this country should be going? No matter ho small they may be?

YOUR one vote goes a LONG way trust me. Remember the whole Bush/Gore election saga in the state of Florida? That was a close race. And if you think that the ANC has such an easy time of it, if you vote then your one vote might be that one that takes away the 2/3 majority they enjoy.

I knew that without even checking the papers this morning. I could already feel hell freezing over just like they said it would. :D

Seriously - was Mbeki that much of a keeper that people would want to risk the possibility of him destroying the constitution trying to stay as SAs president for another term? I'll take Zuma for a few years over that any day.

I wish people would vote based on policy, leadership expertise which encompasses education and experience. The president much be above reproach - a man of integrity. People with no idea what economic policy is, vote.
People who are mentally disabled, vote.
People with no formal education, vote.
People with no formal education, becomes a president.

RSA is a not a democracy, it is a dictatorship of people who do not know any better.

Maybe he will now have time to go for Xhosa initiation to learn more about grass roots.

Umshini wam umshini wam!!!!
At first i thought it was just a chant to gain some popularity among the comrades. Now that Zuma has chanted it during his first speech as ANC president, one has to wonder... what does he want to do with his machine gun.
1) Make Zimbabwe our 10th province?
2) Irritate some, bring cheer to most?
3) Go target practice?

Anybody seen "ughm" his first "ughm" press conference as ANC "ughm" president. Stand up comedy show?

You have a valid point. People who don't know better have got the most say ... but unfortunately this is considered to be just (nevermind it being to the detriment of all) because it happens according to democratic principles.

I did catch a bit on the news at 7 on SANC3. Mbeki's expression appeared like that of someone who had just had a double stroke.

DA the choice

I work for the DA and I can tell you that for the first time in our countris democratic history we have a realistic chance to put the ANC in its place. We will be getting much more votes in this election and only judging by the amount of people of all races joining the party over the last few months we will do good. The DA is the future of South Africa where we can live in an open opportunity society.
