Yeah I was shocked at the prices and what you get when we stopped at one a couple of weeks ago.
Spur breakfast. Now that's good value for money.
Spur and Wimpy both have a breakfast for R29.99 - two eggs, bacon, tomato, chips and toast. Very good value IMO.
Yip. Until you actually sit down and calculate it would cost you less than R5 to make the same breakfast yourself. #mindblown
M&B have good prices for their portions.
Does that cost factor in the time to make the breakfast, to clean up after it and the electricity/gas used?
1. Wimpy is not a restaurant in my opinion.... (had this argument last year when they came first)
2. Misleading title with "the worst" when the worst is not mentioned... or did I misread?
If you are going to factor in other and opportunity costs, then you will also have to add the other and opportunity costs of the spur/wimpy breakfast, such as cost of preparing yourself and possibly kids to go out, driving to the spur/wimpy, time spend waiting for food, time spend eating, etc etc.
Our local wimpy (douglasdale) is great for breakfast every second Saturday. Food is presentable but what really makes it great is how fast they are - 4 minutes from when they take your order to when you are munching. Probably that specific branch's management but gosh darn if it doesnt speed up the rest of the day nicely![]()
it seems Spurs and Mugg and bean were rated last
they are marked as 4 and 5? Are there only 5 restaurants in the whole of SA?
And then I want to add:
3. I see 1 and 2, and 4 and 5.... who is three? Average? Never heard of them.
LOL I didn't even notice the numbering on the side
I read the article as them showing a table with the top 2 and then the industry average and then the bottom 2 of all the franchises taken into consideration.
Maybe they did only do the survey on 5 restaurants - I wonder who was the industry average?
