Keep in mind it takes a different skill to haul 40 Tonnes of rock vs an articulated truck full of luxury cars. The salary paid is very skill-based in the industry.

I found some payslips of my dad's lying around from a decade back where I saw he earned as much as a senior software engineer hauling luxury cars.

Expect to see many retirees trucking again to supplement their retirement. Not uncommon to see seasoned truckers in USA & Australia.

America recently announced they will be taking in 50,000 truck drivers from around the world to help with shortages there. A second news article confirmed that they will be taking in even more than that. I wonder how many SA drivers packed up for better opportunities there?

So sad that people have to work for such non-livable wages

The harsh reality that the left and Marxists incur (pretending to stand for the opposite)

The R350 grant and staying at home sounds much better though.
