Just tell us where the money will come from? If we don't pay for it at the pumps we will be charged somewhere else.

Maybe another VAT increase? It'll be the tax payer for sure, whatever form it takes.

Not being negative but anything our government tries to do always goes south.

If it's a price cap, the money would come from petrol station owners eating into their profits?

For about one big increase like we saw recently and then they're selling at a loss. So no, won't be that.

Call me fodder then.

The money can easily come from reduced tax on fuel - a large percentage of fuel price is tax.

Okay, cool. And since we're already short on tax income in terms of the budget, where do you suggest the additional shortfall should come from? Personal income tax? You'll have people not driving much, subsidising those that do, in effect.

“Government is deeply concerned by the rising cost of petrol in South Africa which is largely caused by the rand-dollar exchange rate and the price of crude oil,” said Radebe at the time.

So deeply concerned you tax the living **** out of it and steal all the money...

I truly hate our ruling elite.

Well it's a proposal right now.
I take it after elections the plan will mysteriously disappear.

You don't fill a bucket full of holes by pouring more water into it. You first plug the holes.

This is exactly how taxes work in this country, the comparatively small middle and upper income earners, subsidizing the lower and zero income earners.

Exactly  I shouldn't laugh though but it is a simple concept that the government, SJW's and libtards the world over can't seem to grasp.
