Price fixing, seriously, are people incapable of learning from Zimbabwe and Venezuela? All that means is there will be a massive shortage. Petrol via the black market is a lot harder to wangle people. Stupidity in its purest form. We can't fix the economy and prices are going up so lets institute price controls. Hyper inflation to follow.

Once they cap it it would just run out and we will all use 95.

Thats nice for you inlanders.... Us coastal ppl don't even have the choice of 93... :(....

But then its no surprise that the Minister and the team tasked with figuring this crap out are not even aware of the absolute basics about fuel distribution in SA.

I think they are hoping that 95 octane and Diesel price increases will subsidise the price of 93.

As much as I wish that they sold 93 at the coast (my car should use 91 octane at the coast) very few cars in SA are built for 93 at the coast, thus stations don't sell it here.

As for the guys fearing shortages, lp gas has had a price cap for years and I have yet to see the scenarios predicted here.

Who uses 93 ?? only the voter fodder maybe................

I do. What's wrong with using 93? If your car can benefit from 95, sure go for it. But no point in pouring 95 into my one car. The other one I use 95. But the daily runaround is a 2007 Jazz and Honda themselves said no point in 95.
