So petrol is capped. Does this open up the possibility that diesel will be used to make up the difference since the price of diesel is not regulated?

Even if not, the prices of goods will still increase with the price of diesel.

You all misunderstand.

The same price is not mandatory, but there is a maximum price set. The station owners will decide to discount the price, much like they do for diesel already. There is no extra tax needed, so calm down.

It means garages will now compete on petrol price as well as diesel price.
