Hmmm would be interesting to see how many folks the avg mybb know who have immigrated. I reckon about 1/4, if not 1/3 of my fellow school folks.

why not just skip straight to a saudi type setup.

foreigners do all the work and get paid very well and live in compounds while there.

the locals who have friends in the government do no work they just pick up the pay check or send a friend to pick it up the end of the month.

the rest of the people live in poverty and are happy in lala land. death penalties for crimes etc.

good story to tell.

Leaving is not free and by no means cheap. So those 700k whites are well off persons that used to contribute to our economy.

It is a catastrophe, but it is probably seen as a victory by racists

That means the white population has been decreasing by 38.3 people per day over the past 5 years. BEE and AA are going to become irrelevant in the next decade.

If we break the figures down even more, this is the difference in two of the age groups:

30 to 34: -38,854
35 to 39: -63,527

Wow. That is over 100,000 people. If we had to calculate potential years of experience, that would be over a million years of experience (assuming 10 and 15 years for each age group respectively). That is quite a stretch, as that figure assumes that the majority of those left had any sort of working experience. But, that is a scary amount of lost potential (and their capital).

I know of 3 people who have immigrated and they have become good friends of mine- two even bought property here. I don't know anyone that's emigrated recently, but most of my family moved before 1990.

I am white, and am not ashamed of it, nor do I feel sorry for anything. I don't have sympathy for people like you. I have sympathy for the poor and disenfranchised. You live in some weird world. Racists will always be around. No matter what you or I do. You need to get that chip off your shoulder. You need to start looking inward, instead of pointing that finger at everyone around you. You use broad strokes to lump all whites together into the same basket, yet you scream "racism" at every turn. Your world is a very sad place, where you are always the victim, and will always be. I pity you.

There is no logical discussion with you. You are not open to any other views. So why should we be? Good luck with your SA. You are getting it slowly, but surely. The white population will be so small in the upcoming decades, that black racists will start turning on the coloured and indians next. This is not the end, it's just the beginning.

Its unfortunately true.

A number of my close friends have been made offers overseas, and have accepted them. My wifes family emigrated to Canada about 6 years ago, her sisters family leaves beginning of Aug, and we are planning on leaving in 3-5 years. We have started the process. If it happens sooner than later, even better.

A number of other people I know, skilled workers are also leaving or planning to leave.

We have a good life here, indoors, however when outside, one has to be every aware of crime so as to not be an easy target. I have been effected, multiple times, including my wife and enough is enough. My skillset can be used elsewhere, and the not very small tax amount I pay each month I would rather give to a government who puts it to work.

I love SA, but I love my family more and staying here jeopardizes my daughters future and possibilities, ours as well. This ship looks like it is sinking, however only listing at this time, with possibility of correction, but how long and at what expense to my families future?

I will leave because I am privileged enough to leave and I hope the people who are not, put more effort into making sure they actually have any future, or for their kids, which is looking more and more bleak.

Maybe one day we can return.

Just to say I reported the racist post, not ngwe32, and I did so because I don't think racism should be tolerated, quite simply.
There is an issue to be discussed which is the shrinking white population and it's quite easy to discuss it without resorting to racist stereotypes. While it may be true that racists will always be around it doesn't mean such behaviour and attitudes should be tolerated.
The sooner racism becomes socially unacceptable in mainstream society the better and we can all help that along by not just ignoring it and pretending it's irrelevant or acceptable.

Back to the topic at hand, it's often easier for white people to immigrate because of their ancestry and education, so many are doing so.
To me it's not a good or bad thing, it's a changing demographic in the country, but it's the loss of educated people that's the issue. Unless the government sorts out education in this country we're heading down a fast slippery slope, irrespective of the racial make up here.
