Especially with Smith's absence.

Smith will be fit for the first test. I can guarantee that 100%.

On losing the final tests of series. That doesn't mean your side isn't the best in the world. Mark Taylors great aussie side also always lost the last game after winning the series.

Australia batting aren't great anymore. They rely heavily on 3 guys. If ponting, clarke and hussey fails they are in trouble. Kattich while being a good player and in form at the moment doesn't get the big hundreds which matters, hayden should retire and the number 6 is very week. Mcdonald isn't an international class batsmen and symonds isn't mentally there anymore(sort of like gibbs). Haddin is no gillchrist and will be found out on the SA tracks with the added movement.

Stuart clarke is the key if he is fit their attack will be better but SA will still have the advantage.

We will win the home series I have no doubt about this. The Aus empire has crumbled just like the Great West Indian one did, they won't slip as far as the West Indies did but they won't be number one for a few years.

Time for a south african empire to rise to also crumble ? I guess that's life.

I disagree. I think their batting and fielding is excellent, though their bowling is quite lacking ATM. No longer do they have Shane Warne and Glen McGrath who used to win them matches. We batted, fielded and bowled better than them in this series.

Their bowling is horrid. To be honest.

India don't have a great record in NZ though. Plus most of their recent success has come at home, it remains to be seen how successful they are away :)

For sure, though I've been watching some of the NZ/WI matches where they try to bore each other to death. NZ is making WI look like a competitive team, and on current (paper) form you'd have to back India to destroy them.
