I wonder if the ANC realizes what will happen when the taps run dry and there is no more water.
And on top of it you have the braindeads trying to cultivate rolling green lawns in 30-degree + heat with no rain in sight.

More/higher/another tax is not going to solve the problem mate.Agreed, but if people are willing to pay for water, they will use it. It is a pricing problem and also a supply/demand problem.
Why not raise water tariffs to construct dams, canals and desalination plants so everyone can have abundant water?
When you see wastage, pollution and non-payment, there is no incentive to save.
In our area there are people utilizing boreholes for this, then keep it running 24x7, then their neighbours start to complain about their boreholes drying up... no water for lifestock (horses etc) but grass must be kept green! And on top of it you have the braindeads trying to cultivate rolling green lawns in 30-degree + heat with no rain in sight.
To answer your question. How much of this is weather related, and how much of it is incompetence related.
More/higher/another tax is not going to solve the problem mate.
The problem is that our tax money is being stolen, and that the ANC is wholly inept.
They (the ANC) be a cabal of thieves, and are robbing the citizens of the country blind.
They are ruining the country with their theft and gross incompetence.
And who do you suggest must be in charge of these projects?Yes, ageed. But my condition was that the special tariffs only fund water augmentation projects.
The water crises makes me really nervous given that the war in Syria started because of a water crises.
And who do you suggest must be in charge of these projects?
Got to waste money on something ...
Or they got a lot of water to put on it while it is dark.
Put me in charge. And who do you suggest must be in charge of these projects?
In partnership with the ANC?Successful Private/Public partnerships, like the REIPP projects.
Probably doesn't help but a lot more water gets wasted and polluted by other means than population growths.
