Over 47 free electric car chargers in South Africa

There are at least 47 charging stations across the country where electric vehicle (EV) owners can top up their cars for free, a MyBroadband analysis shows.

When it comes to the cost of recharging an EV's battery, there is no doubt that charging at home is the optimal choice.

We have roughly 68,200 public chargers here (Though most aren't free - so there's that, where SA is winning!). I'm sure SA will catch up as the demand for EV's grows, since LS is a thing of the past now, right?!

Most of these chargers are not “free”.

They are tied to purchases of vehicles as sales incentives.

They also aren’t all open to every EV as the article suggests.
