I now have nz residence which means i can now live and work in aus or nz.
SA is not ok. I prefer a country that enforces it's laws.
What I found quite alarming is OZ has the 3th highest incidence of rape per capita(http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_rap_percap-crime-rapes-per-capita) yet it's a country where laws are enforced so I'm assuming rapists get caught and convicted. What does that say about the male population of Australia then? (other than they horny)...
Hmm, is it just me or is his pro's and cons are bit... weak? Grass jaywalking vs. getting raped and murdered in your home?

It just says that, the majority of rapists emigrated from South Africa...

Yes, here they go around in gangs and the don't always have knives, they have guns as well. I've had two almost get killed friends in violent muggings(I myself has been spared so far) and its usually 3 or more guys with guns and knives. When my lady and I decide to have children...they will be brought up in SA, where there is a local veld and sunshine, not some hooded yob hanging in a wet alleyway with a knife in his pocket thinking he's hard.
So you would willingly have your kids be exposed to a harsher enviroment so that they can be more hardcore? He doesn't know what hardcore is... but every South African does and is better equipped to deal with **** than any other person on Earth.
Ah, I understand now. You already have your get-out-of-jail-free card. Good for you. This is a-person, European passport holder, coming home soon, over and out.
Do different passports allow you residence in different countries?
eg: Aus citizenship - NZ/Aus
Dutch - Europe only, not Canada or USA?
Just responding to your comments mate. BTW, I'm not pessimistic, I'm just making observations about what you said. I've tried pessimism and it didn't work for me. And I've said nothing of local schooling, your putting words in my mouth now.Wow Geriatrix, thanks for that pessimistic perspective there. I guess a get-out-of-jail-free card really can make one more happy, but still I'm prepared to come home and live 'dangerously' because that's where I come from and it's where I want to live.
If you've got the cash, SA's schooling can be brilliant. Are you saying the likes of Michael House, St Dunstans, St Johns etc have produced nothing but hardcore children? Don't put words in my mouth please. 70% of people I went to school with are successful today.
I know exactly what I'm in for crime-wise, don't let me optimism fool you. I've had friends die, hijacked, and shot at, and I guess so have you. But the difference at the end of the day is my Klippies and Coke is still half full china.
Better get yourself some ice, there's a long road ahead.
The problem comes when you have so many ridiculous laws that you might as well be in jail. In the UK, for example, being fined because your rubbish bin was a little too full, or the rubbish not being picked up because the bin was 30cm further from the edge of the road than it should have been. Or being told to remove the barbed wire from around your garden because burglars might be hurt.
