South Africa is on the brink of electricity cuts, says Eskom

An acceleration in economic growth in South Africa could trigger power cuts, with state utility Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd.’s fragile generation system unable to respond to increased demand for electricity.

The energy availability of Eskom’s generation fleet is supposed to be as high as 80%, but is currently as low as 69%, and even a 0.1% rise in gross domestic product could result in outages, Nelisiwe Magubane, an Eskom board member, said at an event organized by Afriforesight in Johannesburg on Wednesday. They probably seriously believe all this bollocks about 4IR (in a country where 30% in pseudo-maths is considered an achievement). Maybe they're worried about all those supercomputers and cloud datacenters going online as we power ahead into our glorious AI and robotically driven Wakanda future... LOL.

Don't worry!
They are recruiting and educating only the best contractors from across SA in a non-racialist manner to ensure their services are top notch!

We're already experiencing outages so it would be no different.

Without the Renewables, we would be in constant stage 2 loadshedding and stage 3 on weekends.
