South Africa on the verge of new electricity era

South Africa is on the cusp of starting a traded electricity market that will give consumers a choice of power products along with a range of pricing options, according to a top investment bank.

Africa’s most industrialized economy has relied on state-owned Eskom for the bulk of its electricity supply for more than a century.

But then Eksdom will not allow the sharing of their infrastructure (looking at you Fibre NP's) so we will have all these providers but no way of getting the electricity to our homes. Then Eksdom will realize too late that they can share it at a cost to the new guys and then still try charge basically the full price of power and literally kill the competition because they cannot be competitive. And how will they be able to do this? Because clearly Eksdom can do whatever the F they want and NERSA and ANC guavament cannot do F all about it.
