Expect the worst Eskom power cuts South Africa has ever seen

South Africa is headed for a record year of power cuts if the rate of station breakdowns fails to improve, particularly at coal-fueled plants.

State-owned Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. said it will again ration electricity on Tuesday after various generation units were shut for repairs or didn't return to service as expected.

More fear mongering... great journalism
Not fear mongering when article is factually correct.

Based on this years outages I also feel that Eskom is worse than ever.

When Eskom starts using the euphemism "load reduction" as a euphemism for "load shedding" which is a euphemism for blackouts things are bad.

Quite frankly, I don't see anything substantive being done (eg new capacity) to fix the blackouts.

Load reduction isn't load shedding. Load shedding is rolling blackouts to prevent a full on blackout.
Though loadshedding is easier to say then rolling blackouts

So when a whole suburbs doesn't have electricity what should we call it?

Sounds like a blackout, looks like a blackout, smells like a blackout.

The sad thing about everything going wrong in South Africa such as loadshedding, unemployment, economic growth, etc is that the solutions are obvious, but the government is doing everything in its power to make sure that nothing gets solved.

Winde said we need to expect it to continue to 2026.

P0es Cyril, off course, lied again.

What does Bloomberg know? Yes, if it happens we get a big "I told you so".
Like my sister claims: You never going to win the lotterie. And every weekend she says: I told you so.

Damn, just when I was expecting this to the best ever year, loadshedding wise.
I suppose the "best ever year" depends on what sort of "best" you were looking for. If it is shooting the lights out, then we have a winner here :p

Why they haven't built a methane-from-bullshite power plant next to parliament, I don't know.
Enough energy potential there to put Eishkom to shame.

I do believe its now getting so bad that we have to petition Microsoft to add:
Rolling Black out / Load shedding
to the reasons for unexpected shutdowns on Windows :D
