I have created a thread on the US forums in order to raise the awareness at Blizzard, to do something about the latencies we have to put up with to their servers.

Please following this link:
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6146725142

Make you voices heard, Australia and New Zealand have already captured their attention, it is now time for us to capture their attention.

Thank you.

With that attitude, I guess it won't. Help out and maybe we will see a change.

Suggestion - post EU server problems on the EU forums.
I'm also not sure what your issue is? Ping under 300ms to Europe is standard... If you think you are going to get sub 100 pings, you are out of luck cause thats simply not possible. The best you can hope for is roughly 150-200ms. I'll check what I get on BF3, but I remember it being somewhere around there

Blizzard is looking into alternatives to solve latency problems, one of them is placing a server in Australia and New Zealand, if we could achieve the same thing, we won't be stuck with 200+ pings now will we?

I complained to them when the Beta was running, i got a big F U

So like i said, wont happen. Blizzard is now all about profit, and SA has got to few players

People have been trying for years now, and Blizzard has more than once replied and said that it will never happen, because financially it does not make sense for them to put up servers here to cater for the couple of thousand players in SA

Countries around South-Africa will also benefit from this and all you need to do is post something there to help spread awareness that we are out there. They said the same thing about Australia and New Zealand.

And whats the issue? I know its not ideal but I have had not a single latency issue the last two weeks, feels instant when I play

It wouldn't hurt for Blizzard to check. Most of the previous requests for servers in SA was for WoW, which is different that with D3.

With WoW, it would have likely been a single realm, and it would cause latency issues whenever you had to deal with other realms, such as battlegrounds, LFG, etc.

D3 doesn't use realms, and I assume that if they decide to start a local server, it will only group you with local players unless you specifically invite foreign players.

That said, there are still other issues, mainly with installation and maintenace cost with running a server. I'm not sure about this, but I think Blizzard runs their own servers, and doesn't use any third party companies to run servers.

Also, Blizzard has the exact number of players from SA and the surrounding areas. They will know whether running a server in SA is worthwhile or not.

Don't waste your time on the OP, he is living in a fantasy world. he has not been playing games long enough to know how many years South African gamers have been trying to get blizzard to setup a server in SA....

agreed. sure its higher than in europe but who cares? u can still do anything they can just as well with 200-400ms so its really no big deal.

They have player numbers based on the registrations and IP addresses. This is about as good as online petitions to stop whaling/mcdonalds/the boogey man

Yeah it's pointless far too few players in South Africa to even consider the costs of putting a server here.

No offense, It isn't a good idea, if they do decide to stick a server in SA, very few will play on that server. so you will have an under populated server with terrible economy, What happens if you use your battlenet friend list to invite people to your group?
Who will be the ones lagging then? the friend that lives in UK or you living in SA? no European will want to connect to a SA server to get pings of 300.

And then how many others like myself will stay on other EU/US servers because of guilds and friends? There is no chance i will play on a Blizzard server if they stick 1 km away from my house and i get 10 ping to it. I prefer playing with my friends.
