The roadmap looks pretty impressive if they can deliver on it. We could reach majority vaccination before a few other countries - maybe not the likes of US and UK etc but certainly others.

some friends went to Gallagher Estate for theirs (teachers) and said it’s running like a well oiled machine.

My wife got vaccinated earlier this morning (as part of the teacher roll-out) at Momentum's offices in Centurion. Said it was generally a well-running system. She got there just after 6:00 and was fifth in the queue.

After she left at around 8:30 there were massive queues outside.

What I'm hoping for is that by the time we get to around 50% first doses, hospitalizations and deaths will be really low, so Level 1 alert and no masks. I can dream....

We should hopefully start seeing weekend numbers picking up massively from these big sites opening up (together with the smaller private ones).

Private companies to the rescue to get us back on track with the vaccines!

We seem to align a lot with WHO and their recommendation is not to drop masks and still have some social distancing even with reaching full herd immunity (by numbers)

although everytime I hear someone from WHO talk its just doom and gloom so....

Friends in the UK who had both their Astra-Zeneca jabs were advised by their GP service that they can come in for a "booster" jab between September and October

The GPs office said that by then, they will have vaccinated between 95% and 100% of their patients on record and have a lot more spare capacity

They also added that their last registered covid death was on 20th May

Parents in & out of Virgin Active Claremont in about 45 mins although they were there 45 minutes before the opening time (8am) due to the reported chaos/long lines there later in the day.

So they kind of admitting that the Pfizer vaccine is not that effective against the Delta varient?

In addition, the companies expect that a third dose will perform similarly well against the highly transmissible Delta strain, which is quickly becoming globally dominant.

Out of caution, the companies are also developing a Delta-specific vaccine, the first batch of which has been manufactured at BioNTech's facility in Mainz, Germany.

Vaccine seller wants to sell more vaccine. Who woulda thunk?
