Between R400 billion and R1 trillion? That is a pretty huge gap no?

"in a bid to generate an additional 9,600MW of electricity"

Seems so little over a 15 year period.

Yeah.. there is no way that they can do a full nuclear procurement process in 6 months. This will end up in court and be lucky to start building the first station by 2030.

Must be based on the historic track record... it starts at 400 billion but will end up at 1 trillion by the time they start the projects :)

What a minute! They want to build 6 nuclear power plants in 14 years? They can hardly build 1 coal power plant in 14 years?

Nope, they won't build them..

Russia will build, run, operate and own them... we will just lease them.

South Africa or Eskom? There's a difference in my opinion. If South Africa were to do it, that's my tax money at work, therefore it's paid for by me already or at least every year that I pay tax going forward. If Eskom, expect massive price hikes *yawn*, again.

This is going to drag on for decades, because they won't know how to split that pie

Yup... sidestepping most of the issues.

I think the deal is to actually give them shares in Eskom. This is why they want to keep the monopoly
