Rumours going around that Morris is being considered as a 4th seamer and to bat at 7 instead of de Bruyn or Markram.

Match day - can't wait but eish that batting line up looks brittle. Need Elgar, Amla and De Kock to have a cracking series if we want anything from this tour...

The start of a test series! Is there anything better? Not for me.

My starting line up would be...

Kuhn
Elgar
Amla
JP
TdB
Bavuma
QdK
Philander
Rabada
Olivier
Maharaj

I think we'll see Morkel in the team. The English lineup is littered with left handers and he is brilliant against them.

I would play Morkel over Olivier in that line up with 3 seamers and one spinner.
but I would in an indeal world drop JP for Morkel and move Olivier up one.

the squad I think they are going to go with for today is:
1 Dean Elgar (capt),
2 Heino Kuhn,
3 Hashim Amla,
4 JP Duminy,
5 Temba Bavuma,
6 Theunis de Bruyn,
7 Quinton de Kock (wk),
8 Vernon Philander,
9 Keshav Maharaj,
10 Kagiso Rabada,
11 Morne Morkel

I think the Morkel/Olivier decision should be pitch dependent. If its hard with decent bounce, then Morkel gets the nod, otherwise for me Olivier. But I agree, it will most probably be Morkel because of his reputation against lefties

Without Faf in the line up, the batting looks a tad fragile. TdB will need to shine today.

hopefully we won't need him too :D ( openers and Amla put us in a dominant position)

this is going to be an interesting test.
I am really looking forward to it.
I wonder how Dean will handle on field leadership, do you guys think he will take to it naturally (like QDK bats) or do you think he will fight though it wiht guts and spirit (like his own batting)?

if there is movement in the pitch at all, we are going to roll over them. with Vern, Morne and KG, we really can swing them out of the game. and Maharaj is very good at keeping pressure up while a seamer rests.

this will be a good contest.

Philander has now dismissed Cook four times in just seven Test innings, at an average of 11.75 per dismissal
