Morkel has the most no ball wickets in cricket history.

Well done mate.

I'm quite surprised by how often we're beating the bat and how long it's gone on for. I was thinking England chose to bat because the pitch was flat and they thought they would only have to worry about the early morning conditions on a fresh pitch. Instead, they could have been bowled out if the batters had nicked a few instead of missing (and we'd taken the Root chance early on).

Interesting day.

Thankfully the bowlers are back out after tea!

Sometimes feels like a pay dispute ... when for a session nothing good happens .. then it is resolved ... and 190/5

BA Stokes c †de Kock b Rabada 56 (108b 8x4 1x6) SR: 51.85

Root 100. Well played.
Yip. Drop him once he's going to profit bigtime. Drop him twice, it could cost you the test match. Don't understand it. When a player of his calibre arrives at the crease you need to be pay attention. It's almost disrespectful dropping him twice.

Hmm, I know it's only Day 1 but I'm wondering if Maharaj was the best choice as a spinner, given the plethora of left handers in this England line up. He's meat and drink to them right now. Someone like Piedt or Shamzi (or Harmer *cough cough* :p) would've asked more questions as they can turn the ball away from the bat.

Great session! I wasn't expecting that to be honest. Still nervous while Root, Stokes and Ali have their wickets in tact. 82/4 could easily become 350/5 with them still around but yeah, definitely on top!

Crikey, did I call it or what. Fckin no balls, dropped catches 357/5 could easily have been 220 all out.

You are the Root to all evil...

Anyhow, can't see us even getting close to winning this one. Best bet is a draw.

For that to happen, we'd have to bowl them out early tomorrow and then bat until tea on the fourth day. Set them a deficit somewhere in the region of 250 and bowl them out in 4 sessions. Can't see it happening though
