Two close calls for Amla regarding run outs..... AB screwing himself and Smith not looking like he is up to scratch....

Well at least we know the pitch is not an easy one to bat on thus if our bowlers can bring their A game we could possibly still get out of the first innings with a lead.

I really worry for our bowlers, in the first innings especially. They haven't had much practice but will need to hit their straps from the get-go to keep us in the hunt.

300 will give us something to work towards.

If we can get up to 280 (hoping ) it will be give us something to bowl at.

Happy with 300 with our bowling attack.

If our Bowling attack fires :p

But I also think 300 will be fine.... The pakis still have to bat last on this track and by the purchase that some deliveries got today, I am not too worried yet.

So would you guys have Steyn throw his bat at it a bit this morning or rather have Amla try and keep the strike for 80% of the time and have steyn try and fight the urge to swing at it about 1 or two balls and over?

Day 1 goes to Pakistan.

2 out of 3 sessions to Pakistan.

Looking to see our lads dig deep and turn day 2 into success.

...and as I write this:

Mohammad Irfan to Amla, OUT, Irfan's struck second ball and it's the Big Fish! Amla's staying on to check the no-ball but Irfan's safe here, caught at second slip, moved across the right-hander, fine delivery, Amla merely poked at it outside off, very indecisive with his footwork, it went flat to Younis Khan

HM Amla c Younis Khan b Mohammad Irfan 118 (252b 13x4 0x6) SR: 46.82

:(

But definitely huge kudos to the great # for giving us a the innings total.

The glue that held the innings departed and the rest of this innings was a meek end. Bowlers are going to be under the kosh to make early inroads.

A am hopefull that Big Vern and Steyn fire from the get go, and that Morkel can be his impossible self helping to build pressure and keep their feet from moving forward.

Also I hope Robbies can get a good amount of turn as this wicket did turn very nicely a couple of times yesterday.
