We used to put insulation tape over tennis balls. We'd all bowl 140kp/h then
Man, I could get the ball 'talking' with new insulation tape on it

We used to practice at my house by having one guy skip the ball across the pool as fast as he could and a batsman on the other end trying to play strokes, and a keeper behind him. Was the best coaching you could ask for. Balls in excess of what must have been 140km/hr, moving off the pitch/water and hardly any time to react. Ah, I miss that.
Maybe I should adopt a kid. For the cricket...
