Truthfully though I have faced the likes of Hayward so I have got an idea of the delivery but nothing definitive.

Do you guys really think you were bowling a tennis ball at + 140km/h?
Pllllease

With insulation tape, yes, we were. Also keep in mind the short distance.

More importantly, how are you guys measuring the speed of these deliveries?

I would calculate the time taken for the ball to reach the batsman over the distance of the pitch. Unlike these ridiculous modern methods, our method was accurate. We got the actual speed, whereas nowadays they take the time the ball was released from the bowler's hand.

I can just see him standing there with a stopwatch.
"You just bowled 200km/h.............., no wait that can't be right"

We used to duck 'n dive at my mate's place as they had a long narrow concrete path next to their house. We used a golf ball and a plank type bat!!

Plenty of einas!!!!

My mate, the wayward hayward! My initiation to PE premier league cricket was Ezra Moseley and Greg Thomas.

It's not rocket science. Start stopwatch from moment bowler releases ball and end stowpatch when ball reaches batsman. Take that time and take the size of pitch into the equation and the rest is math...

 Ever heard of a stopwatch?

Well seeing as I mentioned it before you, I think I know how it works.
So please explain how you're able to get the rotational speed from your bowling arm in order to accelerate the lighter, smaller ball?
Surely a heavier ball would result in a greater acceleration using the same rotational arm speed?

We were throwing the ball as fast as we could. Certainly weren't bowling that. Fastest I faced as a kid was Pat Symcox's son Russell. Luckily we were team mates as kids but by the age of 14 he was already clocking close to 130. Also faced Nantie Hayward in the UK a few years back. That was scary...

Yeah i know how the process works, i find it humorous that you think thats a more accurate way of measuring the speed of a ball than a machine.
