Wonder when the penny will drop for the politicians.

When it happens, it will be too late by that time.

I always wonder when people are going on about how the government wants to control us with Covid-19 regulations and I just wonder, how?
No military to speak of and SAPS falling apart, so how exactly does the government want to control us.

Wonder how many of those expensive Saab Gripens are still airworthy?

Bloody big white flying elephants we bought.

The second oldest air force in the world is almost non functional. Brought to you by the ANC.

The SAAF is, next to the Royal Air Force (RAF), the world's second oldest air force. The first operation of the South African Air Force was in 1922, when it helped to crush the Rand Revolt, an armed uprising by white mineworkers.

No. Not the second oldest in the world.
Second oldest of the Commonwealth Air Forces.

People keep on bringing that 'fact' out. There are other Air Forces older than SAAF.

Just for perspective, one of USAs aircraft carriers has more aircraft and personnel than our entire air force...
They have more aircraft and personnel then most countries airforces? The US spends many many countries entire GDPS on their defense.

Selective snips,

I don't believe our navy vessels will be upgraded. The navy is our most important military asset at this time, but hey, our oceans are being ransacked... which probably has more to with political reasons /cough.

So, get this, whilst the military goes to rot more is placed into salaries. Shouldn't we cut down on unnecessary personnel? The last I heard we lacked specialisation, place emphasis on employing specialised personnel, mechanics, doctors, nurses, etc. We contracted Cuban mechanics not too long ago…

Streamline the military, because currently it looks like a special employment program.
I hear that one of the new subs is being used as an officers mess. Apparently the batteries were destroyed and were not covered by the warranty.

Colonel Jan Breytenbach was the commanding officer of the para's involved in the Battle of Cassinga on 4 May 1978 in Angola at age 45. Pic of him middle facing the camera after the battle.

Or the battalion commander, but he was on the old side to be there. This guy was a CORPORAL.

Jan Smuts was responsible for the establishment of both the RAF and the SAAF.
When all these local yokels whine about his name anywhere they should note that, without Jan Smuts, most of the world would today be speaking German and all blacks would be slaves of the Third Reich.

Also the UN would be even more toothless than it is already.
