Warning to South Africans with banking apps on their phones

Several prominent South African banks say they have seen a marked uptick in banking app fraud impacting their customers.

KnowBe4 Africa recently warned that thieves are increasingly targeting smartphones to gain access to banking apps. However, Absa, Capitec, Discovery Bank, Nedbank, and Standard Bank say phishing is a more significant threat.

"criminals impersonating bank officials to move funds to a safe account or to approve transactions."

Can't fix stupid.
If you're not older than, say, 70.... you have no excuse.

So, warning pretty much everyone about pretty much nothing, because the problem isn't about any banking apps but about phishing scams?
Really ... why do I still read mybroadband news 🚮🚮 "bad news for", "good news for", "warnings to", "whats next with Aki" or the latest DSTV piracy bust.pfft

Couldn’t agree more journalism as a whole has turned into trash

They also repeat themselves non stop and try create sensational headlines

Might pop into my bb once a week now vs daily a few years ago

You left out "massive" and "huge"

A "massive" or "huge" part of the problem is gullible people. I once had a ex girlfriend call me to speak to her father who thought he was getting $ 10 million inheritance and was about to pay R7500 admin fees to some degenerate scammer to release his inheritance money. And yes he was old an senile.
