The lies you are smelling are probably from forumites here who are spreading the fake news.
not sure whether to take that as aimed at me, but just in case, to clarify:
i came here to ask whether anyone had heard anything similar, based on the fact that 3 people working in the industry told me the same thing today. i've been pretty clear about (a) what I was told, (b) that it was reputable people, all working in the industry, and (c) that they were told to prepare to close shop again after recently reopening. to date, no one has corroborated it, which is possibly a good thing (though the fact that it's been thought important enough for the presidency to deny indicates that it's more widespread than just the 3 i heard it from).
asking on a forum for corroboration is precisely what i would expect a forum to be useful for, so i don't see that as "spreading fake news".
if this is not aimed at me, you can feel free to ignore the previous, because it doesn't apply

edit: i'm still trying to find out who told them, but since they're busy trying to salvage their life work, throwing away stock, cashing in their available funds to stay afloat, and negotiating payment of bills on a triage basis, they're understandably busy and not replying to emails right now.)
