So what do you do if you think you have covid? I heard they aren't testing people under 55 anymore.

I started feeling a bit iffy 2 days ago. Today I started feeling worse. Blocked nose, sore throat and some chest pain and feeling bleh. Could be anything tho?
Thing is I work in a mall. Could have picked it up anywhere.

Are you self-isolating until you are sure?

They are prioritizing older people, not to say you can't be tested if you have symptoms, that would be very foolish. Look for the helpline number and give them a call.

Phone the Covid hotline, or visit their website: https://sacoronavirus.co.za/
They will go through a long list of symptoms, and advise you what to do next. Unless you have a pre-existing condition or are over 55, there is little point in being tested.

Self-isolation is the socially responsible thing to do, though it will have no benefit to your health. There is also no treatment [for mild cases], so unless you have severe difficulty breathing, there is no point in going to a hospital.

That depends on you and your medical health status. If you can self isolate till a few days after you get better and you are generally healthy then it doesn't really matter if its covid or another flu unless you need hospitalisation. If you want to know you can pay to get tested yourself or most medical aids cover positive tests if they preapprove the test. But take it easy and let your body fight whatever you have and hopefully you get better soon.

On a side note theres been a pretty heavy upswing of cases in my work/personal life and hearing of lots of cases vs only a few up until 2 weeks ago.

Moving to level 3 is the reason.. i think everybody knew that, once the lockdown is relaxed, cases would rise.

Kicking off bigtime. 7210 new cases on the last 24 hours, 36k tests. So 20% of the 36k tests came back positive. That's a flipping high percentage.

Data for Gauteng and its five districts. It is updated daily (or as often as they are able to source data).

Wow, I'm surprised that the court finds NCCC to be constitutional. I think they should appeal just so we can get more judges to consider the legal standing of NCCC.
I think it comes down to the arguments made in court. You have to be careful how to present things. Although the fact that the judges don't know what authoritarian means is concerning. None of their arguments against calling her authoritarian actually support not calling her authoritarian.

There is no cure. There is treatment.

How would you tie the 7210 cases to those 36,000 tests?

Beyond that it's not kicking off any bigger today than it was a couple of months ago.

Also remember the numbers given on a daily basis can be up to 9 days old. So pretty pointless
