As I just stated, case numbers are not particularly meaningful due to testing protocols. It would be helpful if they posted the reproduction rate R0 per province, though it is much harder to estimate.

BTW, what happened to all the numbers for district hot-spots and cases per 100K population? Or did they realise that was useless nonsense!?

The Government was given 14 business days to republish a new set of constitutionally aligned regulations to manage and control the Lockdown, which period formally expired at midnight Tuesday, 23 June 2020.

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, failed to publish a new set of regulations by the deadline and resultantly there is currently a legislative vacuum. Any amendments to these invalid Regulations like the ones published on 25 June 2020 are automatically invalid too as it attempts to amend regulations that are not there anymore.

Notwithstanding that the Government filed an Application for Leave to Appeal which purports to suspend the operation and execution of the Court order, that measurement is not applicable to matters invalidating laws due to unconstitutionality and therefore the 14 days were never suspended.

Only the Court had the constitutional authority to have extended that period and now not even the Constitutional Court can revive those Regulations.

The NCCC matter in the Western Cape High Court is also not applicable to this LFN matter, as the Court never made an order to validate the Lockdown Regulations and in any event could not at stage do so in relation to Lockdown Regulations which already were invalid and non-existent.

Government is now refusing to accept defeat and is going on as if nothing has changed. If Government disagrees with our view of interpreting the law, it needs to approach the Court for a declaratory order and until then the people may legally accept the Lockdown is essentially over.
