True, but regardless what the percentage of asymptomatic or very mild cases is, the growth rate deduced from tested cases will still apply. It just means is that our case numbers are several days behind.

Knowing the actual number of asymptomatic or very mild cases would have been very helpful early on but at this stage it seems we are no longer concerned with halting the spread and are more focused on treatment (and doing a pretty terrible job at that as well).
In all provinces except possibly one.

Not really an increase, it just went back to what it was before the lockdown, which was meant to build extra capacity beyond normal numbers. Now they can't even deal with the pre-lockdown numbers???!!!

So come Monday smoking will be illegal in SA
Dr. Maria Cristina Profili, a WHO representative to Jordan, said the partnership between the health agency and the private sector came about beginning in March, when the coronavirus was spreading around the world.
.
So they started this partnership at a time when WHO was still hesitant to declare this a pandemic?

Also, WHO in a partnership that pushes the sale of nicotine products? Why not recommend vaping, that already excludes the majority of harmful chemicals??

The doek lady should be charged with crimes against humanity for her smoking ban.

Nicotine in nature repels pests (nicotinoids), so why would it not work inside ones body?

Edit: on the other hand, she might actually be a candidate for a Nobel peace prize as her smoking ban allowed for all those lethal black market nasties. Maybe that's why SA is doing so well with the mortality rates

Are you suggesting that smoking is good for the body?

I'm suggesting that nicotine can be beneficial. Smoking and nicotine get interchanged all the time and one assumes the other.

I do not advocate to start smoking, but there is no short term benefit in stopping either, especially during a pandemic.

Yes the body starts to heal straight away, but there is also something called quitters cold, when the body is far more susceptible to infection shortly after quitting.
