I was encouraged by Squirrel's mention of anti-body testing last night. We might actually get real numbers soon.
I mean as I've stated my niece was tested on Thursday morning, it's now Monday. With the weekend it will probably only be Thursday that she gets the results, she's already 100s.

At this point, going to now really persue my wifes british passport and my sons, get them over there and I'll have to go as a spousal. It's becoming more and more clear now that there is no saving this dump anymore.

Yay! More thumbsuck maths, but we will; call it a mathematical modelling. That all proved so accurate already. Oh, wait, it didn't really, did it?

The anti-body studies around the world predict the actual infections, not some model of them, and those numbers suggest 6 million actual infections in SA (which may be conservative - we are probably around the 10 million mark).
Those number suggest nothing. Every country is different. You can't even hope to use the numbers from one country as a determining factor for another. The only way that you can estimate the number of actual infections is by modelling them. This guy has been one of the most accurate predictors. But, by all means, live in your special world where you have already determined what the number of infections in SA are where we bow to your infinite wisdom.

Thanks for the laugh. I appreciate a good joke early on a Monday morning.

And you only realize this now?

Nah I've got family and friends here still and I don't want to leave them behind, but it's getting to the point where it has to be done. My dad is still here on this side and I'm his only son and he only has one grandchild as well.

It is heart breaking, in this last year and a half I've seen a lot of friends emigrate, even some that were die-hard South Africans who loved this country are now gone.

Common sense and brains is something these anc dumbass criminals do not have, they do not give a shyte about the average SA citizen as long as they can line their pockets with looted money.
The point of the lockdown in the beginning was to prepare the health care system, surprise, surprise they did fvckall just stole the money.

The economy has gone down the drain a long time ago, these idiots just poured down the drain-o now to make sure it stays down.

It was about saving lives in the beginning, now its destruction and looting.
"Common sense and brains is something these anc dumbass criminals [and their supporters] do not have.

I'm back at work today from recovering from Covid 19.

I had no fever, no sore throat, no cough.

I felt a little schit about 4 weeks ago, like I had he flu. Lasted about 4 to 5 days.

Tested positive on the 27th of June. My SO tested negative and had no symptoms whatsoever.

I can almost guarantee we have way more cases than recorded. I only went to get tested because a colleague came up positive. I also had to do some serious convincing to get them to test me.

Significant other, climate, opportunities. All 3 still here, but starting to be doubtful about the latter. Problem is if I sell my business, it will buy me peanuts over there (not enough to retire on) and don't feel like for working for someone else.

Well this is good and bad news.

Good because it shows that many are getting it and are asymptomatic and recovering.
Bad because they are possibly inadvertently spreading the virus
Good because it is helping us along the road to this rather strange and maybe fictitious point called "herd immunity".
Bad because it making the official figures virtually useless, and feeding the hype and doomsayer predictions.
Good because it may kick the system into doing more mass testing.

The system doesn't have the capacity to do more testing.
