Social worker: Er, your results are the lowest ever seen. These are the kind of numbers we'd expect from some kind of lizard or something....

No, I do not believe that at all. The PANDA guys are drawing conclusions because of a supposed link that is just BS.

The deaths are happening, There are more people dying than "normal" and the estimated method the SAMRC is using is as valid as anyone else's way of doing it.
We know factually that deaths are NOT being reported and recorded properly. EC is a case in point where the Minister has already publically criticised EC. There are plenty of these things going on.

Note: I also believe that EC has really dodgy data (as was shown yesterday) but I can also believe the SAMRC excess mortality calculation isn't perfect.

It is a real pity that the PANDA group are digging a hole for themselves when the SAMRC have already clarified what the analysis means.

Hmmm. Probably fake news. I’d hate to think how the ANC would react if it were true, though. Given that they’ve taken to scolding the citizenry and treating them like children I can only imagine the level of “punishment” they would mete out for that.
