This woman being interviewed on SABC news now (don't know who she is) seems to be laying groundwork for the district thing.
I take it back. She seems to not like how the anc does things

At least she knows a bit more about how to properly set up a video call even if the sound is borderline terribel.

What a waste of time listening!

To late to start looking at corruption mr Pres!

Its in the ANC to steal! Nothing will come from this “promises”. The ANC had 26 years to tackle this issue!

It's never too late to deal with corruption.

These daily case numbers are starting to pisss me off.

ANC chipping in with a pathetic 17k tests while everything tells us that the number of new daily cases is expected to be well into the 30,000's by now.
Either do your f'ing job properly or tell us that you've failed, just stop pretending ffs!

Fiance's hospital just ran out of high-care and ICU beds.

#justtheflubro

EDIT: and no it's not some shitty government hospital
I think the biggest problem with hospitals in general is that they are run like businesses. Just like hotels, restaurants, airplanes etc, hospital capacity is based on general peak demand. Anything too much above that and you end up paying bills for empty beds. Same as flying half empty plane (in public health, they just haven't built any).

So when an unexpected demand occurs, suddenly they are all out of capacity.

I therefore think it is misleading to compare covid with flu. Flu happens regularly every year and the numbers are taken into consideration when counting or designing beds. Covid is not, but that does not make it lethal (for most).

A good example is that in the UK they generally do not keep too many snow ploughs running, because snow only occurs for two weeks every year. It's too expensive to run machines that don't get used often. And when the snow does come, it's a disaster.

Does this make snow lethal?? No, because other countries are used to this load and can handle it accordingly.

If Gauteng were a country, she would be 20th on the global confirmed cases list. That is somewhat frightening.

Why? You realise that Gauteng has more people living in it than Belgium, Sweden and Portugal? Our population is almost as much as the Netherlands, at 15m vs 17m.
You can't just run off of total figures - it means very little.

Deaths are low. We can wear masks and go back to normal.

Not our fault they failed to prepare themselves during the initial 3-week lockdown period. Far more harm is being done by the lockdown.
