Deaths are low. We can wear masks and go back to normal.

Not our fault they failed to prepare themselves during the initial 3-week lockdown period. Far more harm is being done by the lockdown.
Everything is back to normal, except gyms and our personal freedom.

You understand fukkall about medicine, that much is clear.
Maybe keep sticking to horses hit claims that 50% of your income goes to the state by way of taxes, yet you eak our monthly payments for medical aid.

It's time this virus hit close, home and hard for some here.
And then what, hm? You'll be vindicated, validated?

Instead of getting moody with my idiocy, why don't you school me on the science of ventilation?

PS: What percentage of your income goes to tax?

and the gyms thing is BS, it can be done safely
The best way to fight this virus is to stay fit & healthy

Instead the ANC wants everyone to stay home and eat lays

"SA Democratic Teachers' Union (Sadtu) general-secretary Mugwena Maluleke said they were concerned that private schools would not be affected by the break."

"Maluleke added the union was also of the view that Grade 12 pupils would need assistance, suggesting that the department consider reintroducing "camps" in safe and "structured areas" with less movement. "

Field schools? Or what is happening. What do they mean with camps?

Because private schools don't fall under your control, not sure why you're concerned? They don't work they don't get paid, perhaps that should be same for you? Schools are already structured areas with less movement?

What did they expect to happen? People are gatvol
Thing is the voluntary retrenchment package was far better than the forced one. But, no one knew who would be let go so it was a gamble. But, now you will have all those people running around looking for the same job (in a small industry) once the money runs out and their chances of finding another job are very very slim.

Was a tough one. Luckily the missus was one of the ones they kept :)

I'm hoping they take that money and use it to move overseas at the soonest available time. Which is a pity it's not soon.

Private schools don't have SADTU members, they aren't paid by the government for no work no pay. They are paid by the parents that use their schools, if they don't work, those parents will make plans to not pay.

This is what we're doing now. It was mostly talk and what-not but it's become a reality. I'll be taking my skills elsewhere.

We're exploring our options as well, but my wife's mom has misplaced her british passport, so it's going to be a bit harder to sort out my wife now.

Usually the Grade 12 are taken on camps somewhere to prepare for the exams, it is a venue somewhere where they are faraway from distractions of their familiar sorroundings.

Thats exactly what I said to my SO yesterday after the speach. Watch for unions challenging private schools. Surely private school pupils cannot unfairly benefit from their schools being opened and gain extra knowledge and skills over their underprivileged, previously disadvantaged compatriots??!
