What where?
Here in Gauteng, I don't know if it's for everyone or it's for selected schools. Panyaza does a lot of work in supporting teachers and learners while you guys are busy calling him names.

and the gyms thing is BS, it can be done safely
The best way to fight this virus is to stay fit & healthy

Instead the ANC wants everyone to stay home and eat lays
Nope, it's one of the most likely places to get infected, people breathing heavy in a closed placed releasing viral particles by the boatload its right up there with religious services with everybody singing their lungs out but they for some retarded reason remain open

I'm guessing it's for selected schools, as I've never seen this being rolled out or even mentioned.

WATCH | Stun grenades, water cannons used at hospitality industry protest outside Parliament

Stun grenades and water cannons were used to disperse protesters marching to raise awareness about the plight of the hospitality industry outside Parliament on Friday.

People from various hospitality or restaurant establishments marched in Roeland and Plein Streets on Friday to raise awareness about the industry's declining revenues amid the Covid-19 lockdown.

Some held signs with the words "#JobsSaveLives" and "#ServeUsPlease" on them.

A photographer covering the event, Shavan Rahim, told News24 that the crowd probably grew to around 200 people before they were dispersed by public order police.

Rahim said the event was very peaceful, but that police officers he had spoken to, while they admitted they didn't enjoy using stun grenades, said they were under strict instruction to disperse the crowd.

"It was very peaceful. Everybody had masks on. It was all peaceful," said Rahim.

GroundUp photographer Ashraf Hendricks captured on video the moment that water cannons and stun grenades were used.

View attachment 880391 Someone asked about influenza this year.
We got one case!

I pointed this out months ago. Seasonal influenza is spread by international travel. With all the border closures and other restrictions, it was always going to be a quiet season. Anyone who thought different doesn't understand that measures to protect against Covid, have the same effect on all the other respiratory viruses...
Makes one wonder about the actual number of Covid deaths if we have to subtract flu deaths from the average total to get to baseline first...

Are PANDA paying attention? Or too busy with their own agenda to grasp reality...

What I understood from the story about excess deaths this week, is that we only report deaths in hospital, or with confirmed tests. So anyone dying at home from 'heart attack or pneumonia' is out of the count (even the ones who got turned back from hospitals and clinics). And in SA thats helluva lots of people.

Unless an autopsy is done which includes a test for covid 19, there would be no other way to determine if the death was caused by Covid 19. The death would then be noted down as to whatever comorbidities the patient was being treated for at the time. BUT, the death would still be part of the "excess death" count.

Pretty sure no automatic autopsies are being scheduled?

Neither have I. The NICD and the SAMRC have been asked this question but no response has been forthcoming.

Do they typically respond in the same way when unions or poor people are running amok?

Many of those will be people who were not infected with SARS-CoV-2, but died because hospitals are prioritising virus cases. We definitely can't assume all excess deaths are caused by the virus.

"SA Democratic Teachers' Union (Sadtu) general-secretary Mugwena Maluleke said they were concerned that private schools would not be affected by the break."
They're angry that their plan to sabotage all children's education has failed.

Where did the one person get it from?

Edit.
That report says there was only one detection in week 24 (week starting 8 June 2020) but there has been other detection in prior weeks. Says total cases are at 79 (5 acquired abroad and 74 locally acquired)
There were 'lots' of cases Jan-Feb in WC.

I was only talking about people who didn't get tested or admitted in Hospital, and died from Covid.
For sure I have even less clue than the officials , about how many died from other causes.

Ok, I understand. The statement that there's only been 1 detection during the lockdown period is true, but we should also be aware that there have been other cases detected before the lockdown so this one person probably got it from another person and not from pigs.
