Under the present lockdown regulations, one is not allowed to visit family at their homes. Is it allowed to visit with family at a restaurant?

Just go visit them. Been doing this for months now. No one gives a damn about these stupid rules.

Just bring a bottle of wine with you, be home by 21:00 and you are good to go. (Or sleep over)

Yeah I think the max tests that can be processed on a daily basis is 55-60k and assuming the positivity rate stays constant for a time, will lead to 12-14k cases a day at the peak. Remember two days earlier this week, only around 33k tests were processed.

Another minister tests positive for Covid-19

Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ebrahim Patel has tested positive for Covid-19, Cabinet Spokesperson Phumla Williams said in a statement.

Patel received his results on Saturday. This was his second test to be conducted since the outbreak of this virus.

"Minister Patel is in good spirits and is in self-quarantine, and will continue to work from home. Those that have been in contact with the Minister are also in self-isolation and have been encouraged to get tested."

On Friday, Patel participated in the virtual parliamentary budget vote debate on the revised budget for the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC).

"As part his budget debate speech yesterday, the Minister announced that every directorate of the DTIC and every agency within its mandate will prioritise saving firms and jobs during this period."

I'm very disappointed, he shouldn't have been wearing open toed shoes, while waiting in Woolworths for his cooked chicken when he could've ordered both online... Oh wait

What is the cost of a test nowadays? and who pays?

Our local DeBeers mine up here bought 2 machines to test, The cost per "Test Kit" is R1400 ........
Up here in NAM, already hear that the local areas no longer have test kits and are about 12 days behind testing, which obviously makes testing irrelevant now..

Meanwhile back in my hood, turnaround time from DeBeers for results is less than 24 hours....

Goes to show, North or South, African Govs cannot keep up with the private sector ./

Yup, the private sector is still way ahead of the public sector in SA. Now let's remind ourselves that the majority of South Africans don't have private medical care....

That's a lot of deaths in Gauteng. Was there a backlog?
Have no idea. The figures we get in our area are very erratic.

See the Mediahack website for more detail.
One H of a peak in EC and GP, which does not seem to be correct and suggests thta deaths have NOT been reported consistently in these two provinces.
