The Minister is now demanding that all, sudden deaths and deaths occurring at home or out of hospital are checked for Covid 19 and the information provided before a death certificate is issued.
That will address some of the uncertainty around deaths recorded as NATURAL.
BUT it will not help fix the previous inaccuracies in the data.

Also, we now have an official admission that the daily stats reported are NOT correlated back to the date of occurrence, (death, tested, etc) but reflect the date reported to the Ministry and confirmed.

Hence there would be a further built-in distortion because the SAMRC death statistics are correlated back to the date of the occurrence of the death and not the date that it was reported.

GP also announced they are holding back daily statistics while they are busy with some data confirmations.
[Read GP needs to find a new fiddle factor as they have now been caught out with the fiddles they have been up to, to date.]

I read another article relating to this. He was quoted to actually refer to the total number of tests.

He must actually be sooo proud, that they have actually managed to run something for this long (daily testing), albeit at a very tired rate lately

So he's happy that the total number of tests continue to grow? As opposed to what?

HAHAHA That's even worse!

Does that get backdated? As it can take ages to get a result. So far a month and counting.
“The capacity of the National Health Laboratory Service is about 2,500 tests a day, and politicians promised the people that we will do 5,000 tests a day. That caused the backlog.
“At the present moment, we've convinced the politicians to reduce the number of tests done in a day to 2,500. Now we are only testing those who are sick and hospital front-line workers. We don't have problems now because we are testing according to our capacity.”

In the reporting period, 294 learners, 753 teachers, 76 administrative staff, 33 general assistants and three Youth Brigades had tested positive for Covid-19. The 294 learners come to 0.09% of Gauteng’s grades 7 and 12 learners combined. The 753 educators make up 0.82% of Gauteng’s teachers.

The analysis said: “Specifically, positive cases among educators according to the submitted data are between 10% and 20% higher than what one finds in the population as a whole. This should be compared to existing evidence from outside South Africa, that education workers may be 55% more likely than non-essential workers to become infected, and increased likelihood figures of 600% for health workers and 80% for the police.”

The analysis also showed that Grade12s were around three times as likely to be positive as learners in Grade 7, which correlates with medical research showing younger children are more resilient to infection.

So I've just heard the our Local Post Office is closed, I wonder if those 100s people who were waiting in line for the R350 grant are going to be notified.

So if he was tested a month ago (30 days) then even if he had it and he did what he was supposed to and isolated for 14 (10) days, he is now considered to be "recovered" anyway. So what is the problem?

Just thinking in the long run, how will they determine who gets vaccinated when millions of people have already had the virus?

I can only imagine it's much cheaper to test for active Covid-19 right now than it is to test for T-cells next year...

Ja Interesting point. Who will be given a vaccination IF it ever materialises, and how will that decision be made?

Based on NOT being tested before? Based on being in the vulnerable group? Race? Age?
Or based on being a card-carrying member of the ANC?

I was thinking the other day about how many drinkers and/or smokers I know of who got infected with 'rona.

None - and I know of quite a number of people who'd had it. The two people I know who died were both in their 60's, neither drank, nor smoke, and both had diabetes.

'Thousands of rules that don't make sense': Capitec CEO slams SA's Covid regulations

“Government lost a tremendous opportunity during the crisis to build trust among all South Africans, and unite us behind a single purpose,” Fourie tells Business Insider South Africa.

“They made mistakes with regulations, trying to enforce thousands of rules that are difficult to enforce.”

“Now there are all these thousands of rules that that don’t make sense.”

For example, how is it possible that taxis will be allowed to operate at 100% capacity, but other businesses can’t operate?

“Nobody can justify that rule.”

That assumes that locally produced vaccines will actually be for local use
