The same Maseve hospital she asked Dr Zweli about and the same Maseve hospital Dr Zweli told her is 90% complete, the same Maseve hospital that was unveiled by Royal Bafokeng and the NW department of health, yet still Gwarube cannot bring herself to apologize for her blunder, instead she is finding all the reasonable explanations to try wiggle herself out of an embarrassing situation, how pathetic is that?

So the state of disaster expires on 15 August. It is rumoured that we might then go to level 2 lockdown with the booze ban being lifted by Aug 17.

Any other educated guesses, insider knowledge or wild speculation?
Drop the State of Disaster and hence the official NCCC.
No need for it. The govt has created the NFCC.
The National Fusion Command Council.

Same circus, same clowns, same ringleader, different tent.

Positivity- and Infection- Rates.
Which is a better indication of the state of the siuation?

Both are just a different take on the same base data.
Sounds like an exercise in dividing by zero.
In other words both measures are ultimately just noise.
The only true indicator is the deaths recorded per day, week or month. If that is above normal then it is most likely covid and when it fall back to "normal" the panic is over.
In other words, wait another 2 weeks.

The next guy will think twice of assuming that chair. It's like the tower of the hand in there

My wife worked with him while he was practicing as a paed. She described him as a caring and humble doctor. Would give her big hugs. Such a loss.

Yeah, wonder who will fill his position on the CMS now.

A friend's father got it, but her mother remained negative throughout
Up to 40% of people have T Cell immunity for SARS related viruses, the theory is that these people have been previously infected by a beta-coronavirus which is gastrointestinal virus in dogs, cattle and rodents but humans don't get sick from these viruses.

He added that more work is still needed to be done before alcohol and cigarette sales are allowed again.

“Everything else will open up when the numbers settle down. We shouldn’t really be dealing with it as though there is a contest. We are not contesting anything.

Peter Bruce made the interesting point that nothing will change with regards to alcohol and tobacco until KZN, which is an ANC powerbase (Mkhize, Cele & NDZ all from KZN), has passed its peak.

While the best available estimates show that over 3 million people in the private sector have already lost their jobs and that a fifth of private sector employees did not receive a salary in June as a result of the ANC lockdown crisis, the DA can exclusively reveal that at least 84 337 cadres and public servants were paid their full salaries during the lockdown to do nothing.

According to National Treasury, the average salary in the public service is R393 000 per annum, or R32 750 per month. This means that, over the past four months of the lockdown crisis, the ANC has spent over R11 billion in taxpayer money to pay the salaries of at least 84 000 state employees who “had their workloads reduced significantly.”

Damn leeches.
