If the gov says their decisions are based on scientific advisors you are implicating the scientific advisors when they are actually not in agreement.

Why do you think think the gov is operating cloak & dagger style where everything is top secret? Science works in an open environment, it needs to be questioned and peer-reviewed especially in situations like this.

You are right though, they should resign but only because they are wasting their time with these idiots and will just be ignored anyway.

Who's word do you trust?
Someone posted this a few days ago: The government relies on advice the same way a drunk relies on a lamppost, for support not illumination.

Genie now out of the bottle with top scientists going public .. probably the ANC's worst nightmare as they can't use the scientists as cover for political decisions .. pretty obvious to many following the saga over the weeks but now in the open mass media....

The problem is the supporters of the ANC don't have internet and will blindly follow

"We never had discussions on banning alcohol and cigarettes. No single scientist would have supported the cigarette ban. We don't know who's advising government. This whole thing has been politicised . it's either you are for or against government."
That should be top news , on every news source for a week.

Great example from our minister of health. Attending friends funeral, and speaking/ sharing microphones with everyone without using his mask.

Logic? There is none. Congregating in crowds is a no-no. The number is irrelevant. Every concession is a compromise.

No what is the problem? Maybe IF they all get a few lethal doses, the survivors might actually see the light.

Mkhize's job and the health MAC has got nothing to do with who is supposed to sell what in a lockdown, the members of MAC are there for a specific purpose and they should stick to that.

If they feel their free speech to criticize government is bring oppressed they should resign from the Health MAC.
Yes comrade, off with their heads, pesky medical people trying to advise on a medical issue.

This makes me happy, i was concerned they would be happy to stay on level 4 due to their early announcements about staying on level 5. Financial implications are obviously starting to bite them.
SA's one size fits all approach is retarted. No province should be sitting at anything higher than level 3 at the moment. Let MP, LP, FS, NC, NW all go down to level 1/2. Inter-provincial travel for non-essential purposes is already prohibited. Open up those provinces and allow all manufacturing to open up. Then provinces can trade without risk of passing the virus across borders. They also should be honest with themselves and monitor adherence at funerals which is how some of the less affected provinces are getting the virus. 50 is too many but it's even worse because due to lack of monitoring and enforcement, people ignore that restriction.

Of course, personally i think the whole country should be on level 2. I can understand limiting large gatherings but if 50 people can go down a mine shaft together then 4 people can have a braai together.
