Guys

The following is my personal opinion and observations.

I works at one of SA's Air Force Bases. While chatting to one of my colleagues, he/she mentioned that there is a very large aircraft parked on the base.

We did not think anything about it, till I was standing outside the base at 13:03 waiting for my wife to pick me up. As I was standing there a convoy of six Imperial Logistics "Fast 'n Fresh" container trucks left the base, along with a large contingent of SAPS Task Force and other assorted units.

Another colleague and myself (He was waiting for his Uber), immediately suspected that because the container trucks looked a lot like they might be refrigerated, that the vaccine might have arrived in SA.

According to Imperial's website: "Imperial Fast ‘n Fresh is the market leader in South Africa for the supply of transport and related services for temperature and/or time sensitive products."

Might this also be linked to the emergency NCCC meeting? I am just speculating.

Edit. I just had a look on Flightradar24, and the aircraft in question is Cargolux CV8374/CLX8374. No point of departure is indicated, neither a destination.

Unfortunately, photography on the base is strictly prohibited.

Any thoughts?
CLX8374 is currently on the ground at O.R. Tambo International, having departed Waterkloof AFB at 15:27 today. It arrived, today, from Kuala Lumpur, at Waterkloof AFB @ 10:41.

The political elite privately and quietly buying some vaccines for themselves.

There is no way SA already has any vaccine. The government hasn't signed any bi-lateral agreements yet and Covax has said we can only expect vaccines from Q2 this year.

You don't need any agreements if you're part of the elite, just the money to buy directly from the source. Call it "trying out a sample".

I agree the reporting on all aspects of the virus should be a lot more careful and sober. But that's not going to happen. Most of the news thrives on sensationalism and hysteria.

I came across this

Does look like there might be something in it. I wonder if people have been burned by the whole hydroxychloroquine thing? I think a lot of time and research went into checking whether it really worked. Even once research showed it wasn't effective still more was done to satisfy demands to prove it worked.

It's strange to me that those who are diagnosed with Covid, in spite of all the available information on how to avoid contracting it and the draconian lockdown regulations, are considered victims. Even stranger, an overwhelming number of those who've died or badly suffered due to Covid-related complications, knew (or had to know) that they were at risk, yet they still went out and got infected.

The numbers today are higher than ever, in spite of everything published and MSM talking about it 90% of the time. How can they still be victims?

Am I missing something?

We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,

96 seems rather low for someone healthy and out jogging all the time.
You should be concerned at anything under 93.
You should be on supplementary oxygen at 90.

With all due respect, measuring gas saturation is difficult. Retail pulse oximeters are not super accurate (+- 2 percent), and the guidelines are not exact.

Thanks for the guidelines. Seriously considering buying one of these.
Does not seem that there is a very large margin before one should be concerned.

Worth having, but shortness of breath is the primary symptom, long before you get down to 90%. The reading is just an objective measure, and threshold for intervention.

You're the one demonstrating the complete lack thereof.
I've managed to avoid catching a cold for 9 months, let alone Covid. I'm not the problem. The lockdown regulations are because of the 1.1m others who did, no?

- None of the prevention measures are 100% effective.
- Getting it maybe partly due to the negligence of others - e.g. those with chin masks etc.
- Human nature to sympathize / emphasize. Large number of diseases are preventable to an extent (not just Covid-19), yet people still get sick.
