7day trend of cases per million ..SA is 126 in the world .. despite no vax ..

This is because we only really had one lockdown early last year....the January 2021 one was more a farce.
The more infectious strain infected rapidly all it could under the current circumstances and has more or less died out.

Ja and I have been criticised about my opinion of the vaccines (frankly as coined today on th forum, the vaccines should be renamed as "Immune Boosters" at best). The vaccine do not prevent infection. At absolute best all they do is reduce severe illness and deaths.

Nope. Evidence from countries with well-developed vaccine programmes shows they do cut infections.

A bit of both depending on the timescales, the vaccine provides full immunity to the older variants for at least 40 days, for the SA and Brazil strains they drastically reduce the chances of severe infection. Jury isn't out on the Indian strain AFAIK.

Right!
The fact that people do not have symptoms does NOT mean the vaccines cut infections!
The virus is just driven below the surface.
The ONLY way to prove otherwise is ironically with an enforced testing of all people vaccinated every X days.
Until someone produces evidence in that form, the case for vaccines preventing infections is just unproven BS.

The GP numbers don't make sense, as if you take the total no of cases minus the deaths minus the recoveries, there should only be 474 active cases, yet apparently there are 1343 in the hospital and 314 are critical? Uhh that doesn't make sense.
