Before I got the jab a twenty odd days ago, the nursing staff refused to jab me at the premed and sent me to get a doctors note stating I was not safe to be jabbed, seem's I have comorthingetjies!

Anyhow whilst sitting in my Zambian doctor's office, we jabbered away, he was marketing the Chinese jab in a big way and then went on to tell me that in my line of work and his, being in the public sphere on a daily basis, we in al likelyhood must have picked up the C19 at least twice over the last year without even knowing it...

"Go get the jab boy!", you will be fine..... as he handed me a note...

I felt a sense of relief, he was more than likely right, "must have been infected at least twice this year, after all I have eighteen of my staff positive....."

Two days ago I got the news that my Doc was now admitted to our local Covid ward....

Now I am think how effective is that Chinese stuff?

We also had a massive drop in deaths with nearly zero vaccinations so one has to be very careful when ascribing a drop in death rate to vaccines.
The drop in deaths in South Africa coincided with a drop in cases. During the early months of the vaccine roll out in the UK, there was a sharp reduction of hospitalizations and deaths despite the number of new infections were increasing

This is so disturbing on so many fronts.
1. We have no idea how many people have in fact already had this little bugger. In SA, the antibody tests suggest that 1 in 9 people have probable been infected somewhere along the line and neither they or the experts know when, where or how severe the infection was/is.
2. The so-called test questionnaires completed and the stupid temperature tests care next to useless as a gauge before being cleared for receiving the vaccines.
3. Why are the experts so unsure about whether it is safe or not to get the jab if you are currently infected? Why cant they come straight out and say what the risks and downside are/is?
4. Why would any country trust a vaccine made in the country who got the world into this mess in the first place?

The drop in official covid deaths IS directly proportional to confirmed cases! It is a BS measure if used to gauge the effectiveness of the vaccines!
It is far too soon to draw any conclusions in SA about the effectiveness of the vaccines at whatever level you like, be it symptomatic illness, hospitalisation, deaths whatever.

For the same reason they are not sure if there is any vaccine virus shedding occurring, how long the immunity last, what is the difference between natural vs vaccine acquired immunity, if it is safe for pregnant women etc etc. They simply did not test enough.

All we know is, they are safe and effective.

They are claimed to be safe and effective. Anyone read the disclaimer printed in Chinese fine print?
Won't be surprised if every single manufacturer has not ensured they have an out clause claiming no responsibility for any unidentified side effects.

"South Africa reported a total of 4,519 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday"

Just to add, that last 9 would have been an 8, but i tested positive yesterday :(
Good luck - hope you pull through with minimal effects.

thanks.

so far it’s very bad flu-like. My throat is on fire. Sinuses blocked and no taste or smell at all. Also get tired. Fever is gone now tough. No breathing issues thankfully but given that I’m in the high risk category my doctor has prescribed a thousand medications for “what if” - primarily related to inflammation.

Wow that sucks, how are you feeling? What made you get the test? Still doing what you were doing at the start of the pandemic or had you relaxed?

Curfew from 23:00 to 04:00.
Events restricted to 100 inside and 250 outside or 50% of space.
Your booze and cigs are safe and you can still buy flip flops and underpants.
Oh and he made excuses for the EVDS system.

So effectively no lockdown then...much like during the second and worst wave.
I think the Karens have been sidelined
