Your sir, are a special kind of stupid.
Just remind us again how you lived? Yet you got it? How is it that you would sanitise your groceries and basically strip before entering and leaving the house and you got it?

Because he unfortunately ran into an idiot who goes clubbing, gets it, has no idea he has it, and spreads it around by not taking any precautions.
Why?

Isn't he allowed to do his own risk assessment and live his own life?
Not if he is going to be carelessly spreading around a virus that can be deadly to some

I think he's jealous, as Nuke has been out the house partying and didn't get it, while Neoprema has been sanitising groceries and got it.

Sanitising groceries? I have to go find that post...

But he was following all the rules, was basically living in a hazmat, so you're saying that was pointless? That perhaps mask wearing, washing hands and lockdown didn't help old Neoprema?

Back in the first iteration of the SA covid thread.

I found this...

A little drastic in my opinion but I do appreciate that we all have differing levels of risk.

So long as only he has to live, or not, with the consequences of his assessment, and not affect anybody else.
As long as he does this during flu season as well then? Cause I mean what if he gave the flu to someone and they died? Oh wait this isn't the flu guys, I keep forgetting COVID has re-written the rules. I mean it's not like this is HIV and he is actively going around screwing people when he knows he has it.

The whole point is that everyone has to take precautions, if the aim is to slow down the spread of a virus. How do people still not get that?

It doesn't help if only one person is taking full precautions unless the people around him are all taking precautions too. Mask wearing, washing hands and lockdown won't work if only one person is doing these things. The more people taking these precautions the more effective they will be at slowing the spread of the virus. Same as the vaccine - the virus will only be stopped if a threshold in the number of people vaccinated is reached - just one person getting vaccinated is pointless.

I think he means because of the clubbing. Has nothing to do with covid, the type of people that go to night clubs are generally stupid.
Maybe, but a lot of fun. :p And pretty good exercise. Seeing my friend dancing and flirting with other girls and doing so myself before we go home and screwing like rabbits, well worth it.

Its not my responsibility to keep you safe, neither is it yours to keep me safe. Media and government really like to push this idea that its everyone's responsibility, unfortunately for them, it doesn't work well on me. If people care this much about the virus, its their problem, not mine.
I will keep my distance from a new person I just met, and openly state that I don't GAF about this whole situation, but I'll keep my distance if they are worried. Interestingly enough most people then tell me "Me neither", and we shake hands.

People are so afraid of dying from this virus that they prefer to stop living. Sorry, that is not for me.

Yoh, mate, you're still a believer in lockdowns? How would you explain places like Texas?

So they're finally removing country names from strains of the virus - good.

Though, I see that SA is a beta tester :D

I'm not jealous at all, I'm far beyond that kind of pettiness lol.

I just am amazed at some people's complete and utter lack of compassion for fellow humans, thats all.

Why? This isn't the first virus, this won't be the last. We don't do it during bad flu seasons where you do have a chance of killing a person as well, yes COVID you might have a slightly higher chance.
Why when people drink and drive, where people carry guns? This is humanity this is how we've always been, it's not a lack of compassion, it's just that's how it is. We all have a certain level of risk for ourselves and others. You have yours and sadly happened to catch it, I have mine where I'm glad things like clubs and such are supposed to be closed, I was also not that upset about alcohol, as I prefer not having drunk idiots around. But others want to drink.

The downside is that they have already run out of Greek letters.....
And very few know their Greek alphabet anyway. So, this silly move is going to have zero effect on the public.
And besides, I like the ring of "China virus" etc.
