So...

Meshoe told Rapport that he feels fine and that he will go for a test once he feels symptoms.

On Wednesday, a week after the church meeting, Meshoe attended a meeting at Parliament along with President Cyril Ramaphosa and other political parties. He is seen in photos, standing next to the president. According to Rapport, the Presidency did not respond to questions on whether it was aware that Meshoe had been exposed to Covid-19.

And guess what Meshoe did today? He took a test after he developed symptoms.

Honestly I can't be arsed to watch. Whatever measures they impose are hopefully not worse than the current hysterical overreaction.

Guess Italy is a hysterical over-reaction then.

Italy is a terrible example to use IMO due to median age (much older than SA on average), a lackadaisical initial response (SA has actually instituted measures far earlier than Italy) and other factors (big Chinese immigrant population in northern Italy, multiple generations in one household in Italy).

If you wanted to be positive, you could look at SK or Japan, although they are probably countries too far ahead of SA (and developed).

I don't know what 'model country' to use, but using either extremes is a bad idea.

So what is your explanation about Spain? They are not as old, and don't have the Chinese factor or most tourists. And they supposedly took a note from Italy's start.

Still no update from the NICD.

Meanwhile, this is happening now:

The South African Zionist Churches has raised questions over why companies, which employ thousands of people, are still allowed to operate – while a public ban prohibits thousands of the organisation’s members from gathering.

The remarks were in response to government’s banning of gatherings of more than 100 people in its bid to curb the spread of COVID-19. South Africa has 116 cases of coronavirus and no reported deaths.

Spokesperson for the SA Zionist Churches Bishop Bheki Ngcobo says, “Why are companies still allowed to operate? They were given the precautions and those companies have more than a thousand workers in one building.”

“But only the church must not go and worship the Lord. I am not disputing what the President is saying because it is his country, but I do understand that in South Africa God is there. In our congregation, we agreed that we are going to worship the Lord in numbers,” explains Ngcobo.

Easter service of denominations that are part of the KwaZulu-Natal Christian Council will also go ahead as planned.
